Riddings CC has been going from strength to strength with their Women and Girls section, and this was shown in the success of their first-ever Women's softball festival on Sunday!
After a week off to recharge their batteries the Over 50s were back in action with an away trip to the lovely ground of Toft Cricket Club where they would face Cheshire in the 3rd game of their Group 1 campaign.

Derbyshire 50+ were at home in their 2nd game of the 2021 season against local rivals Nottinghamshire. Having lost their first game Derbyshire needed a big performance to get the Group 1 season back on track.
The Derbyshire 50+ side visited Middleton Cricket Club once the home of the England legend Basil D’Oliveira to face Lancashire 50+ in the first ECB 50+ County Championship Group 1 game of 2021. This was Derbyshire's first game since 2019 as the 2020 competition was cancelled due to the pandemic.
Sunday 9th May saw the Derbyshire Women back on the field after a washed-out Bank Holiday Monday the week before. This time they traveled to Desborough Town CC for a T20 double against Northamptonshire on a sunny yet at times very windy day.
Alongside the Lightning Cricket Team, we are running an event for girls across Derbyshire to virtually meet some of the Lightning players!
