Chance to Shine

It has been a very busy 2019 with the Cricket World Cup and The Ashes giving us more opportunities to engage with schools. In total we aged with 199 schools throughout the county through our different programmes with quite a high percentage of our delivery aimed at All Stars students. Our transition into the All Stars Programme was very high, with Derbyshire having the most participants in the East Midlands, with one of the biggest percentage of girls in the whole country.

We are looking to engage with new schools this year and are working closely with the local school sport partnerships to develop relationships with schools. The free Chance to Shine resources now have lesson plans for Secondary Schools as well as updates to the Primary School plans. If you are a teacher or would like more information about Chance to Shine, visit https://www.chancetoshine.org/teaching-resources or contact james.colton@dcfcricket.com

Through the Chance to Shine programme, we can offer Full School Programmes and Roadshows.

  • A full school programme is 6 weeks of play activity for 2 classes including an assembly and access to teacher CPD sessions.
  • A roadshow consists of 2 taster sessions and an assembly for a morning/afternoon.

For more information on how your school can get involved, please contact James Colton at james.colton@dcfcricket.com or 01332386604

We ran 4 indoor competitions and 5 summer outdoor competitions with 14 schools taking part throughout 2019. We will continue to deliver competitions for both Primary and Secondary schools in the Winter and Summer, for more information about our competitions please contact james.colton@dcfcricket.com or follow the link below:
