We’re delighted to bring you initial information about our Derbyshire Day in 2023 @ The Incora County Ground on Saturday 25th of March.
The Derbyshire Cricket Foundation and Derbyshire County Cricket Club are teaming up to provide several workshops designed to support the development of recreational cricket and include topics we believe are relevant to the grassroots game.
Along with additional support from ECB, Working with Parents in Sport, DCF Association of Cricket Officials (DCF ACO) and Grounds Maintenance Association (GMA) we will be running the following workshops:

9.45am-10.00am | Introduction | Welcome from Richard Wood (DCF Managing Director) |
10.00am-12.00pm | Energy Saving and Crowdfunding | A workshop delivered by Ged McDougall, ECB Facilities Planning Manager for the East Midlands, alongside DCF staff. |
The workshop will focus on the key issues around energy prices and offer practical solutions to combat this alongside funding opportunities linked to crowdfunding. | ||
10.00am-12.00pm | Grounds Maintenance Workshop | An opportunity for Club Grounds Staff to learn from Derbyshire CCC head groundsman Neil Godrich.
A practical workshop that will take place both inside and on the cricket square. |
10.00am-12.00pm | Umpires Workshop | A CDP Workshop run by the ACO focusing on the laws of the game and key discussion points ahead of the season. |

1:15pm-1:30pm | Introduction | Welcome from Richard Wood (DCF Managing Director) |
1:30pm-3:30pm | Coach Education- Working alongside Parents | A workshop delivered by Gordon MacLelland, CEO at Working with Parents in Sport. |
This workshop will give practical guidance on how to effectively work alongside parents to provide the best experience for young players. | ||
1:30pm-3:30pm | Women and Girls- Developing a whole club pathway | An invite to all womens players in Derbyshire to discuss and help shape the women and girls game in future years. |
1:30pm-3:30pm | Community Engagement- Raising your clubs profile | A workshop delivered by DCF and DCCC staff that will explore how raising the profile of your club through community engagement can develop fundraising, sponsorship, and grant funding success. |
1:30pm-3:30pm | Scorers Workshop | An introduction to scoring using the Play Cricket App- an interactive and practical scoring course ran by Jane Hough from the ACO. |
