Bess Heath Selected for The Northern Supercharges in the “HUNDRED”

Bess Heath Selected for The Northern Supercharges in the “HUNDRED”.

Bess started playing cricket at Baslow Cricket Club before making her debut for Derbyshire U11 Girls on 11th June 2012 at the age of 10. Since then she has represented Derbyshire at every level, amassing over 3,000 runs in that time, including three centuries.

Not only is she a big, clean, hitter of the ball but she is also excellent in the field and behind the stumps, however it is her prowess with the bat that she is most renowned for.

Bess’s successes at Derbyshire led her being selected for Yorkshire Diamonds RDC in 2016 before she was then selected for their KIA Super League Squad in both 2018 and 2019.

Her performances have now earned her a call up for the Northern Supercharges in the inaugural “HUNDRED” competition.

Bess is currently out in Australia playing for Sydney Universities and also training with the Sydney Sixers.

Bess plays her cricket hard, without fear, whilst still playing every game with a smile on her face.

From the many stand out moments in Bess’s Derbyshire career two stand out in my mind, both in 2017, firstly a magnificent 131 off 66 balls against Scotland and secondly, against Lincolnshire, when she was only able to bat with her bottom hand (she broke a bone in the other whilst keeping in the same game) she hit 54, including 2 sixes!!

Congratulations Bess on your well deserved selection.
